There are over 300 different species of this plant. However, it is the species Aloe Barbadensis Miller that is the most effective for consumption.

Aloe vera is a rich source of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and amino acids and has been renowned for thousands of years across many cultures for its overall health benefits.

The Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 came into effect on 15 February 1991, to provide a national framework for the regulation of therapeutic goods in Australia to ensure the quality, safety and efficacy of medicines and ensure the quality, safety and performance of medical devices. They also set Regulations and Order requirements for inclusion of therapeutic goods in the ARTG, including advertising, labelling, product appearance and appeal guidelines.

The TGA carries out a range of assessment and monitoring activities to ensure therapeutic goods available in Australia are of an acceptable standard.

Every country world wide has their own governing body that all finished products have to abide by law before selling to consumers. Australia has the highest standard.
